How
soon will my account be set up and ready for use?
Your
account will be set up within the hour.
You
will receive an email with your account information, username and password.
You can then start using your BizMile Tracker account. It may be that due to popular demand, BMT will be unavailable.
If this should happen, you will be notified and your activation information
will be sent the following day.
Is
my access 24 hours a day?
Yes,
you will have access to your account 24 hours a day, except during scheduled
maintenance which will be between 12 and 2am Pacific Time.
You will be notified ahead of time, by email, of maintenance periods
What
browsers do you support?
On
the Windows OS, we support both Explorer 5.5 and newer version and Firefox.
What is the minimum screen size that is needed?
You need a minimum width screen of 800 pixels wide. However, BizMile can work with smaller screens by the following two strategies:
the F 11 key
BEGIN BY : Hit the F11 key ONCE. This will make your browser window take up all the screen you have so at least we have a shot with whatever screen real estate you have.
.
Control key with the minus key
The Control key- in sequence ( hold down the Control button and click the minus key a couple of times) will reduce everything in your browser to a smaller size. THEN SAVE AND LOG OUT. Then reenter the program with your email and password. This will make your browser open up at a smaller font size and the corresponding dialog boxes too.
How
do I save my trip deductions for future reference and in case of an IRS audit?
You
can print your BizMile Tracker deductions in report format by selecting the
ÒPrintÓ button at the bottom of the page. You can also export the data in
CSV (comma separated values) format for import into common spreadsheet applications
such as Excel by Microsoft. BizMile Tracker will keep the previous year(s)
of trip data on our servers as long as you are a current customer.
What
happens to my address information after the tax year is over?
BMT
will save your addresses from year to year , provided you are a current customer. In this way you will be able to save even
more time next year by only entering new destinations. If you should decide not to renew the
next tax year, you will be notified that your addresses will be deleted off
the iiMap Servers. Per our Privacy Statement, no information is ever shared
with third parties.
What
are the deductible mileage rates for each year?

Which
business trips are deductible?
Generally
speaking, the commute from your home to your work is NOT deductible unless
you have a home office. See IRS publication 463 for information.
http://www.irs.gov/publications/p463/index.html
What
travel expenses are deductible?
If
you deduct travel, entertainment, gift, or transportation expenses, you must
be able to prove certain elements of expense. See IRS publication 463 that
discusses the records you need to keep to prove these expenses.
http://www.irs.gov/publications/p463/ch05.html#d0e6290
You
should keep the proof you need in an account book, diary, statement of expense,
or similar record. You should also keep documentary evidence that, together
with your record, will support each element of an expense.
Documentary
evidence. You
generally must have documentary evidence, such as receipts, canceled checks,
or bills, to support your expenses.
Exceptions. Documentary evidence
is not needed if any of the following conditions apply.
You
have meals or lodging expenses while traveling away from home for which you
account to your employer under an accountable plan, and you use a per diem
allowance method that includes meals and/or lodging. (Accountable plans and
per diem allowances are discussed in chapter 6.)
Your
expense, other than lodging, is less than $75.
You have a transportation expense for which a receipt is not readily available e.g. like a parking meter..
